How to Effectively Protect Pipes from Freezing?

There are several techniques to effectively protect pipes from freezing. In our case, we focus on frost protection using heating cables. This approach avoids using polluting and hazardous substances like glycols or equivalents that are harmful to health.

Depending on the pipes and their applications, such as cold water pipes (CW), rainwater pipes (RW), SPRINKLER, hot water pipes (HWS), or industrial pipes where products can flow at high or even very high temperatures, there are different types of heating cables.

• Self-regulating cables like the TRACECO Class T are used to protect cold water pipes.
• The TRACECO Class S is designed to protect small pipes (diameter and length).
• The TRACECO Class W - Self-Regulating Heating Cable for Medium Temperature is mainly used for frost protection of Hot Water Sanitary pipes or for maintaining medium temperature.
• Self-regulating types like ESR Class H or ESR Class SH Super High Temperature are used to protect against freezing (or maintaining temperature) in pipes where products can flow at elevated temperatures.
• Constant wattage cables that can be useful for very long and large diameter pipes.
• Other cables like GELTRACE (a self-regulating cable, ready-to-connect with thermostat and plug) or AQUACABLE (a constant wattage cable with thermostat and plug) are ready-to-use heating cables usually used for small pipes, often chosen by individuals as their installation and use are very simple. Just place them on the pipes, add insulation, and connect them to an electrical outlet.
